Hi everyone!
My name is Diego, I’m 37 years old and I’m from Bergamo, Italy. I consider myself an honest and enterprising person, combining resilience with a deep loyalty to traditional values that I still strongly believe in, even in the modern era.
I work in a company in Bergamo as a production and purchasing manager. My days are usually very busy, so I really enjoy taking a little time to slow down and write postcards.
In my private life I have a wonderful wife, a six-year-old son and an amazing beagle, and my daily routine is a constant balance between work, family and personal projects.
My greatest passion is music, which I see as an essential soundtrack to every moment of my life. What started as a teenage hobby has grown into an independent electronic music label, which over the years has become a small but well-known name in a niche of the underground scene. Some of the artists I work with have even been played on major radio stations such as BBC Radio 1 and have performed at international festivals.
Besides music, I love staying active and traveling, discovering new cultures and landscapes whenever I can.
In my free time I also enjoy geopolitics and, above all, philately. I mainly collect British stamps and I’m especially interested in very early and historical issues, printing techniques, authenticity and historical context – the Victorian period truly fascinates me. I see stamp collecting as a wonderful way to learn about world history and cultures through something as small and simple as a stamp.
Post crossing and stamp collecting are my personal way to slow down, clear my mind and travel a little with my imagination when real trips are not possible.
A small fun detail from home: my wife works in a local bakery, so fresh bread, pastries and pizza are always around… we really can’t complain!
If you’d like to chat about stamps, collections or curiosities, feel free to write to me here or on Postcrossing.
Diego
